Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Golden Jubilee Brass & Pipe Band Display

Indo Tibetan border police is an elite force of the country raised in the year 1962 in the aftermath of the Chinese aggression, it is primarily responsible for guarding the 3488 kms long indo-Tibetan border from Karakorum pass Ladaks to Jachpla in Arunachal Pradesh. The high altitude warriors, highly trained in mountain craft skiing skills, man border out posts at an altitude ranging from 9000 ft to 18 500 ft.This force has also been engaged in counter-insurgency operations, internal security duties, VIP security duties, anti naxal operation and disaster management and mitigation from time to time.
Indo Tibetan border police force has completed 50 glorious years of its raising and is celebrating golden jubilee year. During this year, we have planned many activities all over the country .Display of ITBP band at prominent places all over the country is one of the major activities, as part of this activity , ITBP is planning to display its brass and jazz bands at important venues in new Delhi and NCR.
Indo Tibetan border police force brass band was raised in 1973.The band has been participating in republic day parade continuously since 1977.The marching contingent of ITB Police has won best marching contingent in republic day parade during the year 1998,1999,2000,2004 and 2011 by marching on brass band tunes. Brass band has been declared best band many times in all India police band competition in many important functions and appreciated by one and all.
