The WOW Awards 2017 is now open for entries in 69 categories across 5 groups. The five groups of categories are MICE/Business Events, Experiential Marketing, Event Intellectual Properties, Experiential Celebrations and Experiential Management.
The WOW Awards and Convention Asia 2017 is set to take place from July 6 to 8, 2017 at New Delhi Aerocity.
Group 1: MICE/Business Events
With a total of 8 categories under MICE/Business Events, this group essentially recognises Events, Activities, Tours, and Initiatives of brands, corporations, associations, and government bodies that were organised for a defined trade/ internal audience. Conferences, incentive trips, meetings, and offsites would figure in categories in this group.
Last year, Laqshya Live Experiences won the maximum number of metals in this category for events including the Autodesk University 2015 and DrupalCon Asia 2016.
Group 2: Experiential Marketing
This group has 26 categories for Campaigns / Events / Activities / Initiatives of brands, corporations, associations, government bodies, etc. for a defined consumer, for the purpose of promotion, communication and marketing.
Most overt marketing activities and events for brands would fall into categories in this group which recognises different types of events according to their formats as well as goals, achievements and budgets. This group also typically sees the highest number of entries. Wizcraft, Toast, Encompass, Seventy EMG, Impact Communications and Guestlist were the top winners in this group last year.
Group 3: Event Intellectual Properties
With 9 categories for Intellectual Properties (IP) and work / activities done in relation with IPs, entries in this group can be made by the IP owner or any organizer / company related to the IP with an acknowledgement approval from the IP owner.
Exhibitions, tradeshows, festivals and sports events are examples of event IPs that enter under this group.
In 2016, top winners have included Encompass for Mountain Dew Day of Dares and Laqshya Live Experiences for Equal Streets, among others.
Group 4: Experiential Celebrations
Entries can be made in a total of 14 categories in this group that recognises different aspects of weddings, celebratory, and social events including entertainment design, décor, F&B experiences, décor, photography, videography, invitations, and so on.
Last year’s winners included Motwane Entertainment and Weddings, which won the highest number of metals in this group.
Group 5: Experiential Management
The 12 categories under Experiential Management recognise the management and execution aspects of events across formats, celebrating the contribution of supply partners and vendors. Production management, trussing, lighting, sound, hospitality and logistics are some of the elements of an event that are separately recognised through Awards in categories under this group. Winners in 2016 have included SOUND.COM and SNL.
