IFC-India Festival Committee & EV Events organise 24th annual Miss India Worldwide in Mumbai

The 2015 edition of Miss India Worldwide concluded with a grand ceremony on Sept. 5 at the Lalit Hotel, Mumbai.
Stephanie Lohale (Miss India Oman’15) was declared the winner, whereas Apeksha Porwal (Miss India’15) and Shivani Govendar (Miss India South Africa ’15) were announced the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Speaking about the event, Eisha Ramrakhiani, Director, EV Events, said, “Every year, the pageant is hosted by a different country; this year being the 24th one, it was quite exciting, not just for the contestants and delegates of different countries to come to India, but also for us as the organiser. We aim to transform the property into one of the most sought-after global Indian fashion and lifestyle initiatives, as it celebrates true Indian beauty. Through this platform, we are also looking at strongly supporting the cause of women empowerment.”

The gala evening was hosted by well-known TV personality Karan Tacker, while the evening saw performances by various artists, including Hridai and Monica Gill.

As a part of the faculty, the international beauty pageant had Sandeep Soparkar (ace dancer/ fashion choreographer), Ritika Ramtri (pageant coach), Raj Suri (photographer/ film producer) and Alesia Raut (one of India’s top models). The judges panel included: Rohit Verma (fashion designer), Richa Sharma (singer), Hrishtaa Bhatt (actress), Niharika Raizada and Nikkitasha Marwah (ex-winners of Miss India Worldwide).
Organised since 1990, Miss India Worldwide is produced by New-York based IFC (India Festival Committee) and aims at empowering women across the globe.

Dharmatma Saran, Chairman and Founder, IFC added, “We are thrilled to bring back Miss India Worldwide to Mumbai after nearly 10 years. It is an international Indian pageant that promotes Indian culture, traditions, values and performing arts. We have also been bringing the international Indian community on one platform through pageantry.”
Also attending the pageant were Shweta Khanduri, Shekhar & Alka Suman, Shatrughan Sinha, Geeta Kapoor, Gautam Arora, and many more.
