AIBTM plans to put spotlight on Europe as business destination

The Americas Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings (AIBTM) Exhibition plans to create a special Market Focus hour that will place a spotlight on Europe at this year's event, which is scheduled to take place in Baltimore, US, from June 19 to 21. This special focus on Europe comes in response to research that showed that more than 60 per cent of US hosted buyers were looking to place business internationally.


Europe attracted more than one-third of all US business travellers who travelled overseas for business last year, of which there were nearly 2.4 million. This exclusive new networking opportunity will take place within a hosted buyer lounge and is available to all European exhibitors.


Any European exhibitor who has booked a stand will be provided with their own table top, so that they can engage with hosted buyers during the hour. In addition, European co-exhibitors will also be invited to attend this exclusive function to network with these key US buyers.


Hosted buyers who have selected Europe as a preferred destination in their application to register will automatically have this networking hour in their pre-scheduled diary of appointments and, at the end of AIBTM, the list of hosted buyers that attended the Market Focus - Spotlight on Europe hour will be shared with the European destinations.


"The Market Focus with the Spotlight being on Europe is an added benefit for European exhibitors wishing to showcase their products and services during this ‘exclusive' networking hour," said Danielle Keogh, Head of Sales, Meetings and Events Portfolio.


This year's AIBTM hosted buyer registration process has gone live and applications have opened to over 5,000 industry professionals. AIBTM is expected to deliver over 20,000 pre-scheduled appointments between exhibitors and hosted buyers and up to 30 appointments for each hosted buyer over the two days of the event
