The five specialised shows feature an international mix of food and drinks products, ranging from raw ingredients to ready-to-eat goods; a comprehensive showcase of hospitality equipment; products catering to the hospitality industry; a display of state-of-the-art technology for tech-savvy hoteliers and restaurateurs; and high quality bakery ingredients and products. These shows are designed to meet the diverse needs of the different segments in the foodservice and hospitality industry.
Since both the primary and processed food industries are expected to grow rapidly, this event is important for the Indian domestic market. The food sector, currently valued at over US$200 billion, is expected to reach US$300 billion by 2015. With both China and India being the two biggest producers and potential consumers of food in the world, Asia will lead the world market in food production and consumption. This makes the biennial FHA2012 a much anticipated fair for both local and international trade players.
Visitors at the event will be from varied segments of the hospitality and foodservice industry, including airlines, railways, bakeries, hotels, restaurants, departmental stores, logistics, spas, government bodies, trade associations, furnishings, and many more. Expecting to see more than 2,600 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, FHA2012 will provide a good sourcing platform for business professionals to meet and exchange ideas, and generate new business leads. With an expanded exhibition area of 85,000sqm, FHA2012 will also serve an expected 54,000 government, business and trade attendees from over 90 countries, aiming to boost their businesses in the robust Asian market. Forty seven group pavilions are also expected at FHA2012.
FHA2012 will also organize several events, including knowledge-sharing conferences and culinary competitions, to offer an all-round food and hospitality experience.
Co-located with FHA2012, Wine&SpiritsAsia2012 (WSA2012), the premier event for Asia's wine and spirits industry professionals, will also be making its return at the Singapore Expo. The 12th edition of WSA will boast a stronger presentation of international wines and spirits, with a projected exhibition area of 7,000sqm and 165 exhibitors from 25 countries. Eight group pavilions from Australia, Austria, Chile, France, Germany, India, Italy and Singapore are also expected to showcase an array of products and a host of new labels.
