Phase 1 organises Scaling The Wall With Rahul Dravid and Harsha Bhogle
Tue 03 July 2012
A fund-raiser event titled ‘Scaling The Wall With Rahul Dravid and Harsha Bhogle' was held on June 19 at The Lalit, Mumbai, for CMCA (Children's Movement for Civic Awareness). Organised by Phase 1 Events & Entertainment, the event was a tête-à-tête between Rahul Dravid and Harsha Bhogle, which was attended by 208 people.

Targeted at High Net-Worth Individuals in Mumbai, who are also cricket lovers and are fans of Dravid and Bhogle, the event aimed to raise the needed funds by selling tables for the event to the donors. CMCA received visibility for this event through webcasting and broadcasting of the same.

Speaking about how the event was conceptualised, Vinodini Lulla, Trustee, CMCA said: "The idea for this event came from Harsha Bhogle. Rahul Dravid is our goodwill ambassador and Harsha is quite familiar with our work. He suggested the chat show between himself and Rahul. We approached Phase 1 to execute the event and the idea just grew from there to include sponsors and selling tables and such."

Phase 1 was appointed based on its previous event credentials and were taken on board as the events partner. They were responsible for the branding, event setup, and creative collaterals including the set, donor passes and other collaterals. They took care of the end-to-end solutions for the entire event, right from conceptualization to final execution.

Commenting on the mandate and its execution, Oum Pradutt, Managing Director, Phase 1 Events & Entertainment said: "We had to bring Rahul Dravid and Harsha Bhogle under one roof for this event. It was a one hour chat show that was aired later on CNN IBN and live webcasting on Hungama.com. Post the chat show, there was a silent auction of items including famous paintings, Rahul Dravid's memorabilia such as gloves, a jersey and a bat, Anita Dongre's sarees, lunch with Boman Irani, Coffee with Prachi Desai, and other vouchers that could attract the HNI individuals to participate with full gusto in buying the items that would translate into funds for the benefactors of CMCA."

The setup for the evening was a chat room facility created at the Lalit. The backdrop had sketches of Dravid and Bhogle, with two AV screens on either side. A surprise element for the evening was Vikram Sathe, who came up on stage and mimicked Dravid. The evening began with the guests being formally welcomed by Vrunda Bhaskar, Managing Trustee, CMCA. The vote of thanks was delivered by Vinodini Lulla.

The evening was presented by CMCA in association with Star India. CNN IBN was the broadcast partner; The Lalit, Mumbai was the hospitality partner, USL and UBL, represented by Black Dog, was the beverage partner; Trinity Vintners, represented by Turning Point, was the Wine partner; and Hungama was the online partner.
