Mood Indigo Worldfest debuts with international flavour

Mood Indigo Worldfest 2011 is an international folkdance festival that aims to facilitate cultural exchange by bringing together young dancers from different countries to perform on a single platform. The property, which debuts this year, kick started on Dec. 14 and will go on until Dec. 21 at IIT campus in Powai, Mumbai. This festival is being organised by Mood Indigo and Ferriswheel.


Speaking about the initiative, Shubhra Mehandiratta, Artistic Director, Ferriswheel said: "This is the 41st edition of Mood Indigo and this year, the property wanted to go international with the launch of Mood Indigo Worldfest. I have been associated with the property for the past four years. Next year, we plan to attract 10 more groups to participate."


Mood Indigo Worldfest 2011 will incorporate competitions, exhibitions, live performances and games encompassing a wide range of genres including music, dramatics, literary arts, dance, debating and fine arts. The festival will witness 100 performers from Spain, Poland, Turkey and Indonesia. This festival is targeted towards people between the age group of 15 to 28 years.


Talking about the initiative, Nandan Jha, Core Group Member, Mood Indigo said: "The sound is being provided by Roger Drego, whereas the lights will be handled by Roosevelt. Sponsors associated with Mood Indigo Worldfest 2011 are ICCR, Tata Docomo, Parle, Dell and Otrivin, among others, who were promoted through on-ground presence such as hoardings, banner standees and promotion through print media."


Mood Indigo Worldfest 2011 is being organised by Mood Indigo and Ferriswheel.
