Tata Motors came on-board as the gold sponsors for the GIM 2012. This association was intended to showcase Tata Motors' global presence, along with its commitment to the state of Karnataka, since the product showcased are manufactured at the Tata Motors plant at Dharwad, Karnataka. In order to highlight this association through their expo stall, Tata Motors appointed MOMS IES, a specialist division of Madison World, to create a stall design which would showcase the brand and its commercial and passenger vehicles prominently.
Commenting on their target audience, Sridhar Katti, Regional Sales Manager - Buses, South, Tata Motors said: "Through this stall, we wanted to engage prospective buyers of commercial and passenger vehicles, along with the SMEs who want to be vendors and suppliers for the major investors. Besides these, we also targeted government and banking agency employees and the general public who visited the GIM. We saw around 6,000 to 8,000 footfalls."
Remarking on their receiving the mandate, Roshan Dalwani, Senior Business Manager, MOMS IES said: "While we have been in talks with Tata Motors for the past few months, this event initiated a promising association where we hope to continue delivering towards the client's delight. The call for the pitch was put out a week before the event, and the execution timelines for the event, post all the finalization, was very tight."
Regarding the stall itself, Dalwani said: "As the gold sponsors, Tata Motors had the biggest stall at 240 sqm. The stall design was shortlisted from multiple options, according to the mandate which required that the stall display the vehicles prominently, while not being too cluttered."
Tata Motors' association with the GIM was publicized using Outdoor Media support, which was managed by MOMS IES.
