Jack & Jones, Vero Moda and ONLY’s Super Saturday returns to Mumbai

June 9 saw the return of ‘Super Saturday' to Mumbai, courtesy of Bestseller Brands - Jack & Jones, Vero Moda and ONLY. This all-day, all you can shop shopping carnival brought Linking Road to a halt as crowds poured into the mega store in Bandra, with a record-setting 32,000 shoppers clocking in from 7 AM.


Super Saturday is a sale at the three Bestseller brands where, for one day in each city, everything is available at 60 per cent off. As in the previous edition, Cream Events was responsible for organising and managing this shopper's paradise. They were responsible for all aspects such as logistics, security, crowd management, traffic logistics and permissions, refreshments, shopping tags, and baggage counters, as well as creating a frenzy to bring in the crowds by inviting as many people as possible using various mediums. The logistics for this year were managed keeping in mind the possible number of shoppers, based on the response to last year's sale.


The day began with around 800 people waiting outside the store with an hour to go for the doors to open. Two super screens with real time live screening were set up outside the store which kept those in line as well as the passersby entertained with a view of the shopping frenzy underway inside the store. A DJ was also present to keep them entertained as they waited their turn to enter the store.


This time, a first of its kind entry system was put into place to fast track selected shoppers into the store. Users were asked to log on the Jack & Jones, Vero Moda and ONLY fan page and download a virtual coupon bearing its own unique serial number, which ensured a quick entry into the store. This new initiative saw hundreds lining up with printouts of their coupons.


Exultant over the success of the event, Wilson D'Souza, Senior Manager, Cream Events said: "Super Saturday last year got us a fantastic response and this year beat all our expectations. We spread the news via SMS, BBM broadcasts, Facebook posts, Twitter and emails, and the response was crazy. We ensured that everyone was comfortable while they waited patiently in line to get into the store and refreshments were provided at regular intervals. Preparing ourselves for a wave of shoppers this year, we were fully prepared to manage serpentine queues, security checks, and traffic chaos, and in the end, it all went off brilliantly!"


This time, Super Saturday is going beyond Mumbai. Cream Events will be managing this shopping carnival in Bangalore and Ahmedabad on June 16 and in Delhi on June 23.
