Indigo n Blues Festival concludes its third edition
Tue 29 May 2012
The third edition of the two-day international blues festival, Indigo n Blues Festival, was held on May 18 and 19 with scintillating performances by some of the best bands in the country. The festival was held at Eden Garden, Palace Grounds in Bangalore.

Performances by Bobby Whitlock and Coco Carmel were the biggest acts of the Puravankara Indigo n Blues festival. Formerly a member of the band Derek & The Dominos, Whitlock was also associated with Eric Clapton and had written a number of songs with him.

Chronic Blues Circus, Groove #3, Overdrive Trio, Saturday Night Blues Band, and Blackstratblues also performed at the music festival. Besides Bobby Whitlock and Coco Carmel, Texas blues musician Van Wilks also gave a memorable performance at the festival.

Produced by Indigo Live, the festival was organized in association with Black Dog and Kingfisher, and powered by Time Out India. SpiceJet was the domestic airline partner, Jaguar Land Rover was the luxury partner, News 9 was the television partner, Cloudnine was the wellness partner, Mövenpick was the hospitality partner, and Shrusti Travels was the logistic partner.

Sujay, Bookmyshow and Indigo 91.9 FM were the outdoor partner, ticketing partner and radio partner, respectively. Deccan Chronicle was the print partner, Justdial.com was the online partner, Columbia Asia was the medical partner, Fame was the multiplex partner, Kolor Kode was festival guide partner, Sound Box was the magazine partner, and Whats the Scene? was the social media partner.

Commenting on the festival, Sunny D' Souza from Overdrive Trio said: "We had a fantastic time playing at the Indigo blues festival in Bangalore. Lovely people and such a great vibe...what an amazing experience. There was an elaborate food court which presented delicious Texan soul food like steaks and barbeque, coupled with scotch and beer. The festival in its third edition adopted a more mainstream approach and presented artists from India and United States, rather than presenting Scandanavian and French artists, which it had done in the previous editions. More than 2,000 people attended the festival over the two days."
