ICCR to conduct Africa Festival in Delhi

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations is organising a two-day Africa Festival on June 18 and 19 at Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi. The festival will witness participation of music and dance troupes from five African countries - Seychelles, Zambia, Sudan, Ghana and Senegal.


These countries have been selected from different parts of Africa to reflect the varying dance forms and music in these countries. Apart from performing in Delhi, these groups are also scheduled to perform in Jammu, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Haridwar.


The dance and music groups from Zambia, Seychelles and Ghana will be performing on June 18, while the groups from Senegal and Sudan will be performing on June 19.


The Zambia Cultural Dance Troupe (ZCDT) is 20-member professional artistic group born and created in Zambia, while the Ntentan Dance Co. from Ghana was set up in 2005 and comprises of 18 members.
