Commenting on the objective, Umesh Unnikrishnan, India Consultant Office, HKTDC said, "Bilateral trade between India and China have been rising at a very rapid pace and is expected to reach US$ 60 billion by the end of 2010, whereas bilateral trade between India and Hong Kong has already touched US$ 8.9 billion in the first half of 2010. Trade events such as Lifestyle Expo Mumbai play an important role in fostering trade between businessmen from both countries."
This expo will coincide with the official state visit to New Delhi and Mumbai by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Donald Tsang and the Governor of Guangdong Province, Huang Huahua. The promotions of the event have been done through 18 leading chambers and associations. The event will also be promoted through PR, a press conference and newspaper advertisements.
Commenting on exhibitors, Unnikrishnan said, "Premium lifestyle products from Hong Kong and China such as electronics, gifts and premium products, household products, fashion and fashion accessories will be on display at the expo. Around 91 exhibitors from Hong Kong and 70 from Guangdong Province, China will exhibit their products.
The opening ceremony will be held on October 28 at the exhibition venue followed by a gala dinner for the important business representatives of the Indian Industry. The invitation to the opening ceremony and the gala evening is strictly on invitation only.
