"It was an invite-only event and invitations were sent across to 18,000 people of which 6000 guests attended the event. Visitors were greeted with melodious live performance by the new generation musicians as Rahul Sharma, Taufiq Qureshi and Niladri Kumar," added Randhawa.
UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi; Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel and Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit were the guests of honour at the event. The guest list included several other Cabinet Ministers and Chief Ministers of various states. Vijay Mallya and other eminent members of the aviation industry were also present at the event.

The foundation stone for T3, one of the largest airport terminals in the world, was laid by Sonia Gandhi in February 2007 and the construction was completed in a record 37 months.
