The CELS is a property started for the OIS division's upcoming channel partners in tier II and III cities. This was the second edition of the project. Conceptualized by Canon India's Senior Vice President, Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, the idea was to applaud these upcoming market leaders of tomorrow's performance, highlight the possibilities in the Indian market and motivate them to work towards achieving it.
The theme for the event was ‘Power and Glory', which was suggested by CS Direkt, bearing in mind the nature of the communication. For this event, more than 60 partners came down to Goa from over 40 cities.
The event kicked off with a welcome dinner featuring the famous Goan illusionist, Edmundo, into whose act the theme was woven. Along with his illusions and his words, he emphasized that glory can be achieved only by using the power that lies deep within.
The next day saw a business session featuring presentations by various heads of departments which covered the topics of the performance of last year, stats and figures for this year, and opportunities for the years to come. From marketing initiatives, to accounting policies, many of the issues of the partners were addressed. The business session was followed by an interactive panel discussion, with top partners serving as panellists who shared their success stories and their concerns. In an open house Q & A round, grievances of the partners were aired and clarified accordingly.
In the evening, the gala dinner function began with the awards night where the partners were awarded at national and regional levels. The night ended with a performance by singer Neha Kakkar.
Commenting on the event, Sanjeev Pasricha, Managing Director and CEO, CS Direkt Group of Cos. said: "We have handled several of Canon's events. This time, it was even more important for us to raise the bar for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 partners of Canon, ensuring that the Emerging Leaders Summit, which we did for the first time, was executed flawlessly."
Regarding the execution, Pasricha said: "We took a completely new approach this time and came up with a unique thought, Power and Glory. The aim was to put forward a simple thought - if you have the power within - you will achieve the glory. Once we had a client buy-in, the rest of the experiential parts fell in place. CS Direkt was given the responsibilities to not only manage the event from start to finish, but also to coordinate with the Canon top management team to make sure that all brand and event guidelines were followed. And we rounded off the event with style and élan!"
