Reliance Broadcast Network's radio arm, Big FM has announced the launch of yet another music awards property. Christened 'Big Kannada Music Awards 2010' (BKMA), the property is co-organised by Bharathi Cement Corporation Ltd., and is in association with Prajavani and Medimix. The property is conceptualized and marketed by Big Live, the experiential marketing arm of Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on August 22. The awards is an exclusive platform to recognise and celebrate outstanding talent in Kannada music industry.
Sunil Kumaran, Cluster Head, Karnataka and Kerala, Big FM said, "The Big Kannada Music Awards is part of our endeavor to acknowledge the music contribution from some of the best talent in Karnataka. Similar awards are being organised even in Bengal and Maharashtra. This is the first edition of the awards. The Big Kannada Music Awards will have 14 categories and one life time achievement award given away during the function. It is an invite only event and over 2000 people are expected to attend the ceremony."
Promotions for the awards will commence from August 3 and will continue throughout the month through TV, radio, print, outdoor, on-line, SMS, microsite and activations at malls across Karnataka. The jury for the music awards encompasses Hamsalekha, Vijay Prakash and Raghavandra Rajkumar.
Commenting on the on-ground activities, Kumaran said, "There will be on-ground voting booths across Bengaluru wherein people can vote. Apart from that there will be bus and canter promotions wherein promoters will ask people to cast their vote for artists. The Canter activities will take place across residential areas, malls and high traffic areas of the city."
